Many of you who enjoy our newsletter probably don’t know who’s actually behind it.
Most of the time, it’s not me (Richie) or Bre. It’s our teammate Mikayla Sullivan.
So today, I’m hijacking this section of our newsletter and naming Mikayla our Milwaukeean of the Week… for good reason.
About a year ago, we were at HAWS Waukesha doing a client shoot for one of our marketing agency clients when we met a senior dog named Zip who had ended up in the shelter.
Senior dogs have a much harder time getting adopted than puppies and younger dogs. Sadly, many spend their final days in a shelter simply because people are looking for a younger dog.
A week after our shoot, Mikayla went back to HAWS and adopted Zip.
Over the next year, they went on countless adventures, and she gave him a loving home and someone who was there for him every day.
Unfortunately, Zip developed cancer and passed away this past weekend.
It’s difficult, but important to remember what Mikayla gave him. Instead of spending his final year in a shelter, Zip got a year filled with love & adventures.
On top of being an amazing dog mom, Mikayla has been a key part of our team for the last three years. She works incredibly hard to grow the Milwaukee Uncut brand, helps our agency clients, and is a huge reason this newsletter now reaches 70,000 subscribers three times every week with the mission of uplifting the community.
So, Mikayla, thank you for everything you do for Milwaukee Uncut, for our clients, and for Zip!
