Eat Local: 15 Milwaukee Area Farmers Markets Opening Soon

Want to know where all of our money goes in the summer? To the farmers’ markets. We are suckers for locally grown produce (and handmade products) and will happily, and without hesitation, fill our reusable bag until it can fit no more.

I mean how can you not buy the shiny purple eggplants, or the tart raspberries, or the gorgeous flower bouquets the vendors have spent so long putting together? Don’t even get us started on all of the little bakery booths and coffee stands.

So, if you’re like us and have been counting down the days to the first market of the season, congratulations, the wait is finally over!

Here are a handful of Milwaukee area markets that are kicking off their season this weekend!

We’ve also highlighted opening days for the other nearby markets, as well as a few outside of Milwaukee that are worth the drive to check out.

Happy shoppin’ and thanks for supporting local businesses!
